This is where I tell you everything about us. Or me, specifically, the one who is writing the about page. I’m 16 and just recently moved from my home state in Oregon to live with my dad, albeit only for the next two months. All my friends are still here which is unfortunate, but it also gives me a driving incentive to look forward to my next visit.
Contrary to popular belief, I don’t actually have any friends in Oregon. When I moved back there at the end of last summer, I had this preconceived notion in my mind that I would be remembered by all my old friends and e would get the old gang back together or something. This was definitely not the case. On my first day of junior year, I realized that I had three classes with my childhood best friend, Donald. But for some reason he doesn’t want to talk to me at all and avoids me whenever possible. Upon further inspection, he’s not the Donald I remembered. This Donald no longer showers and remains on his phone in class until the teacher is forced to take it away from him. And these teachers are extremely lax with the cell phone policy, so he has to be one bad apple. Later on that year I lost my best friend Haley, which was super devastating.
I only knew her online and we’d never really hung out in person or anything, but I had still known her for two years and spent an entire summer calling her every day. As some guy said in 1374, “All good things must come to an end”. That doesn’t mean everything has to end early though. Every good thing could just end the day after I die, and it still technically ended. Then I could have a chance to enjoy everything. The absolute highlight of that year was definitely meeting Stephanie, my best friend. We’ve talked every day for 7 months and still don’t get bored with each other. I actually had the opportunity to meet her this last Monday, which was undoubtedly the best day I have had in very long time.
